Product Name: Sheet Moulding Compound(SMC)

1. Brief Introduction: 

SMC material (Sheet Molding Compound), also known as sheet molding plastic. Due to its excellent electrical properties, lightweight, high strength, corrosion resistance, and flexible design, SMC sheet molding plastic is widely used in various fields such as transportation, electronics, electrical appliances, and construction. It is a thermosetting plastic and is a semi-finished material used for compression molding/injection molding. It is mainly composed of resin, low shrinkage/low profile additives, mineral fillers, reinforcing materials (usually glass fibers), initiators, mold release agents, thickeners, and other process aids.

 

Due to its high strength, SMC is commonly used for products with large molding areas, simple structures, and high strength requirements.
 

2. SMC Application:

  • Automobile body panels;
  • Interior components of railway vehicles; track insulation parts;
  • Electrical and communication enclosures, insulators;
  • Construction components, water tanks, integrated bathrooms, etc.

Changes in the types and proportions of various components lead to alterations in material properties and molding processes, resulting in various excellent characteristics. At Huayuan, we tailor each material to meet your requirements by selecting suitable raw materials to satisfy different processing and performance needs.

High Structural Precision: SMC/BMC achieve zero shrinkage with no post-shrinkage after molding, boasting very low linear expansion coefficients. They require no shaping fixtures or mechanical processing and perfectly replicate the dimensions of mold cavities and cores. With excellent dimensional stability, they achieve perfect fit.

Fire Retardant: SMC/BMC composite materials achieve high flame retardancy, low smoke density, non-toxicity, and low heat release by adding specific flame retardant components. The high flame retardant composite materials provided by Huayuan are halogen-free and fully comply with ROHS standards. Products molded from these materials do not burn, deform, collapse in fire, exhibit good flame insulation, and do not cause flame spread.

This effectively reduces the probability of fire incidents, minimizes fire losses, and facilitates safe evacuation. We can meet even the most stringent flame retardancy requirements.

Pressure Resistance and Insulation: Due to their excellent pressure resistance and insulation properties, SMC/BMC composite materials find wider and more mature applications in the fields of electronics, electrical appliances, and communications. They feature high insulation resistance, resistance to electrical tracking, arc resistance, and voltage resistance, making them suitable for various high, medium, and low voltage products.

Aesthetic Design: A well-formulated system allows SMC/BMC composite materials to skip the painting process after molding, achieving Class A surfaces directly. With internal coloring, they exhibit strong overall color consistency, and colors can be fully customized according to your requirements. Additionally, their diverse components ensure good compatibility, allowing for the addition of various features without affecting molding and performance, resulting in a colorful array of product appearances.

SMC Production Process
Recommended Molding Process:
    1. Molding Time: In principle, approximately 1 minute for each 1mm of product thickness, adjustable based on actual conditions.
    2. Molding Temperature: Front (bright surface) / Back: 146-150ºC / 138-142ºC.
        Note: This temperature refers to the mold surface temperature.
    3. Molding Pressure: Greater than 100 Kgf/cm².
